Privacy Notice

TechDB is a public database for energy-technology data. You can browse and search its public content without creating an account. TechDB does not save personal account information for anonymous use of the service.

Authentication and personal data

An account is needed only when you sign in to update or upload research data. Sign-in is provided through the Helmholtz Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (Helmholtz AAI). For this purpose, TechDB processes your name, email address, and unique Helmholtz AAI account identifier, together with the information needed to maintain a secure sign-in session. Your password remains with your home institution and is not received by TechDB.

These details are used solely to authenticate you, manage access to contribution features, and associate updates or uploads with the authenticated contributor. TechDB does not create an account or store this account information for visitors who do not sign in.
